Product Description

The ZHIJING TiN Coated Slotter Cutting Blade is a surface-engineered replacement part for corrugated carton slotter machines that must keep running through long, uninterrupted shifts. A super-hard alloy steel substrate is first heat treated to HRC 60-68 and precision ground, then coated with titanium nitride by physical vapor deposition. The golden TiN layer gives the cutting edge a hardness of over 2000 HV while keeping the tough core underneath, so the blade resists abrasive wear from recycled fibers, clay coatings and dust without becoming brittle. This coating also lowers the friction between steel and paperboard, which reduces heat build-up at the cutting point and keeps slots clean and accurate for a noticeably longer period between regrinds.

For box plants processing recycled corrugated board or board with abrasive surface coatings, uncoated blades typically show visible edge rounding within days. This TiN coated slotter blade is designed for the slotting stations of flexo printer slotters, rotary slotter machines and folder gluer lines that process recycled corrugated board, coated white-top liner, or board contaminated with sand and grit. It is also an excellent upgrade for machines running at high line speeds, where friction heat quickly softens ordinary blade edges. Plants producing regular slotted cases, die-cut blanks and heavy-duty packaging will notice cleaner slot edges and steadier dimensional accuracy. The same coating technology can be applied to creaser knives, slitter knives and trim knives, letting maintenance teams standardize on one high-performance coated series across the whole converting line.
